VANCOUVER,
British Columbia-- Destiny Media Technologies, Ltd (DSNY -
Pink Sheets) is proud to be the Internet Media sponsor of
Western Canada’s New Music West 2000 music festival, running
between May 10 and May 13.
Digital
music is revolutionizing the music industry. Today, Internet
subscribers are downloading their favorite music from the
web and music enthusiasts are creating their own virtual radio
stations. At the forefront of this revolution is Vancouver’s
Destiny Media Technologies, and their technology will be featured
this year at the New Music West Festival.
As part
of their technology showcase, Destiny will be airing four/five
live broadcasts per night from venues around Vancouver, British
Columbia at RadioDestiny (www.radiodestiny.com).
Music fans can listen to the festival from around the world
by simply logging on to the web site and using the multifunctional
Destiny Media Player. Some of the featured bands that will
be performing via RadioDestiny include Stiff Kitty, Paul’s
Driveway and Truck Full of Death.
During
the NMW festival, Destiny will be featuring their Destiny
Media Player. The world’s smallest, most powerful and versatile
digital music player, the Destiny Media Player is Macintosh
or PC compatible and plays digital music files or Internet
radio broadcasts. It can play mp3, streaming mp3 radio such
as Shoutcast, .wav and .wmf files, and audio CDs, all using
the familiar and easy-to-use home stereo style interface.
The Destiny Media Player also dynamically lists all live RadioDestiny
broadcasters.
New Music
West delegates will also be learning about Destiny’s proprietary
MPE digital format, a rich media format which has the potential
to change the way music is bought and sold on the Internet.
The MPE digital media distribution system is a form of ”digital
shrink wrapping” with full e-commerce capabilities. This technology
allows artists and content holders to market and promote themselves
freely and easily throughout the Internet, but still be assured
that their rights are protected and they are compensated for
their works.
