MPE® Server Infrastructure

The Play MPE® service is built around proprietary server software and databases which provide a direct connection to the internet background from a theoretically unlimited number of locations. Currently, the company has groups of servers in each of four physical locations in North America and Europe totalling transfer speeds of up to 2.2 Gbps. Custom monitoring software at each facility audit processes at the other facilities in real time for failure and are able to automatically fail over to backup processes while sending text messages to our staff to alert them of problems. Content is automatically mirrored from one facility to the next for backup and the highest availability. Incoming recipient requests are shunted to whichever facility is least busy to provide the highest access speeds. All access is logged to create a forensic trail and billing and other reports are generated automatically. Each facility is protected by full time security guards, secure elevator card access and cameras and there is engineered resistance to possible emergencies including flooding, earthquakes and power failure.

Because the infrastructure has been built to support huge usage spikes many times the average real time usage, other products and services can effectively make use of spare bandwidth capacity at no additional cost. New Clipstream® offerings are being built out to utilize unused Play MPE® resources when they are available.
